As far as spandex swimwear design for men goes most people would agree that it all started with Speedo swimsuits for men.

Speedo swimsuits for men have been around for years and are considered by many to be the first men’s bikinis.

Most of us started wearing Speedos as kids. They were and still are popular through out the world as the basic suit boys wear.

As boys grow to men Speedos are replaced by Surf shorts in some parts of the world but in many other places Speedo swimsuits for men have a very strong presence. Most guys in middle school, High school and Collage are required to wear Speedo suits in gym class. From the standpoint of being effective suits for swimming Speedo swimsuits for men are exceptional and they are widely used on swim teams and clubs in most countries.

In countries like the USA where men seem to have issues with showing their bodies in the natural form a problem based more from cultural pressures rather than fashion, an issue that is virtually non existent in Europe and Asia. As boys mature through puberty and everything grows many start to shy away from Speedo suits, not because of the designs but wearing surf shorts hides all the bits and pieces that are easy to see when wearing Speedo swimsuits for men. As fitness starts to take hold in the USA and men are more interested in showing off their manhood like men in the rest of the world, Speedos along with more fashionable and sexy designs are trending up and making a huge comeback this season! It was great seeing men get out of those huge shorts and into beautiful body forming Lycra designs many of which are as daring as the most extreme women’s designs. Fashion experts through out the world are excited by this trend and our hopeful that they become the permanent designs for men. You see this firmly in place in the major cities where on many beaches and lakes you see men wearing Speedos, bikinis, thongs and even G-strings and for going surf shorts completely. So is the demise of the surf short? No not likely any time soon. There are still so many man with body issues that will not change over night but it is progressing in the right direction. Designers are putting fashion back into swimwear even Speedo was offering a men’s thong which was a big step for such a conservative line of suits. We talked earlier about Speedos being the first suits many men used when they were boys but there is another interesting aspect of Speedo design. Many men who are tired of wearing surf shorts and want to wear the skimpier European style bikinis and thongs need a stepping stone before they dare to go that bare, the perfect stepping stone has been Speedo swimsuits for men. My personal Speedo story is one that is both fun and exciting as well as interesting to men who are thinking about going to sexy swimwear designs but are nervous about it. Men are just not trained to be relaxed in their own skin like the girls are. Girls from a young age are wearing one piece skin tight bathing suits and bikinis and as we have all seen at the beach Teen girls are already well into wearing thongs, micro bikinis and g-strings that show almost and in some case everything. I think it is wonderful that no matter what body type, thin, heavy, big boobs, no boobs, what ever women are fine showing what they have. Men are way behind in the USA but in Europe and Asia many if not most men wear smaller suits than the ladies and that is beautiful that they are so free to do this. It is the norm and hopefully it will become the norm in our slightly prudish country. It is funny that the USA is the porn capital of the world and the leaders of the free world but our men are afraid to be seen wearing a Speedo or bikini on the beach. Things are changing and let me tell you about my Speedo indoctrination. Yes when I was young most likely just like you my mom had my brother and I wear Speedos. All the kids did but growing up in Southern California the home of the real beach boys we were soon in trunks and than in surf shorts. I think I got tired of wearing surf shorts when they started hanging well below my knees and a girlfriend told me how silly my tan looked. She said the guys in Europe wear these cute little bikinis and have great looking tans. That got me thinking.

Not only did my surf trunks give m a funny looking tan but my bodysurfing suffered because the shorts offered so much drag in the water slowing me down and helping me loose waves all the time! Just about the same time I started swimming at my gym and though it felt a little revealing I needed to buy a Speedo to swim laps. Every guy there was wearing Speedo swimsuits for men and a different from the beach as possible if I used surf shorts people would think I was strange.  I decided to get the narrowest cut Speedo I could find which was about 1” at the waist. It was red and it felt so sexy to wear. My girlfriend loved it on me and kept telling me to wear it to the beach and over to friends houses and their pool parties.

At first I kept it to the gym. I was a little surprised about all the attention I got from the girls at me gym, they would sit around the pool with me talking and I would always catch them looking down what I did not realize is that soon it would be happening a lot more. My girlfriend decided the suit would look so much better with the liner removed. She asked if it was OK and I said sure. She gave it back to me with liner removed I tried it on and she though it was so hot she could not take her hands off of me. I noticed that my equipment showed much more prominently through the fabric, now you could see all the fine details including size, mine was always small when soft, shape, balls everything. I told her it would be too revealing to wear to the gym but se said no way that it looked great and it was not see through just a touch revealing. It did not take long to attract attention at the gym lots of new girls and even guys coming up and checking me out which I think is just as much a compliment. First time out of the water the spandex now stuck to me like a second skin there was nothing left to the imagination, you could see it all the size, shape, thickness you name it I might as well of been nude but the cool thing is unlike being thrown out of the gym for being nude by the pool everything was fine. One of the female lifeguards asked me about my suit saying she had never seen that design. I told her my gf removed the liner and se said that was a great idea. Next time I saw her she had taken the liner our of her suit and it was nothing short of spectacular. You could see her beautiful parts in detail just like you could see mine! We were both very popular around the pool and even though she was just average looking she always had guys swarming around her after that. The power of Lycra spandex should not be ignored! This is when I realized I should wear my Speedo to the beach and to our pool parties and started doing it. I found at first the guys were giving me a hard time. Oh that’s so gay and other BS like a swimsuit could ever be gay it is just so ignorant.

The girls on the other hand loved it from the start and it was the biggest hit when I went with my gf to her friends party who turned out to be gay as were most of his friends. The guys at that party were so horny. They too assumed I was gay and I can’t tell you how many times I made my suit removed in the pool but it was all in fun. Funny how it was my girlfriend that got me into wearing sexy swimwear. She always wears tiny suits and enjoys going to topless beaches and it was her that pointed out guys wearing smaller and smaller suits at the beaches. She would walk right up and ask them about a design if she thought it looked good. Once after talking with a guy about his suit she had me come over and he let me try it on. It was a Koala suit and it was a game changer.
