It’s never easy getting ready for a first date; at least it’s not for ME. Other people may have so much self-confidence that they never worry or get nervous when they know they’re about to be spending the day or evening with someone new for the first time ever. Avery is so cute that it just boggles the mind. He can’t go out in public without having dozens of people, both men and women, trying to pick him up. However, he’s in a very happy relationship with his partner, Eli and they are perfect for each other. In fact, Avery even claims to not notice that people are staring at him and drooling. It’s probably a good thing that he and I such good friends or I would most likely be one of the drooling ones. Something else about Avery is that he has the most amazing sense of style of anyone I know. That’s why I know he’ll help me.

True to form, Avery arrived with a garment bag in tow along with a shopping bag that looked as if it held new items. He swooped in and laid the garment bag across the back of a chair and plopped the shopping bag beside it.

“So, you’re going to break your vow of celibacy and get out in the world again! I’m so proud!” Avery gushed. “I brought you a few things from my very own stylishly stocked closet and I made a little stop on the way. Go ahead and have a look.” He gestured at the bag.

“Oh Avery, you KNOW I don’t wear things like this!” I admonished him.

“Avery,” I said, patiently. “You know that I’ve been sort of in a dry spell and I would actually love it if tonight’s date with Steven ended in more than a handshake, if you know what I mean.”

“Of course, I know what you mean,” Avery said as he raised an eyebrow at me. “That’s why I made that little stop on the way here. Normally, I would have picked out some things for you from my personal favorite website, koalaswim.com, but obviously, they don’t deliver within hours.”

For the next hour, I allowed myself to be pulled, tugged and prodded at as Avery dressed me up in one outfit after another. He kept emphasizing at the importance of wearing the proper underwear. Blue has always been a great color on me so this may have been something I would have chosen for myself. In addition, I had to agree with Avery on his choice of speedo briefs. Never had I felt quite as desirable as I was feeling right at that moment. I also knew that if the evening with Steven ended on the note I hoped it would, that he would also find me extremely exciting when he saw what I was wearing underneath my date outfit.
