Cruise swimwear for men
It is funny what men wear to the beach and how it differs from what they would wear on a cruise ship.
There was an opinion survey done a number of years ago by a major travel magazine about cruise swimwear for men. It asked over a thousand men what type of swimwear do the use at the beach and the vast majority back then said shorts then the same group was asked if they were on a cruise ship would they wear a thong or bikini and over 80% said they would. When asked why they said that the chance of running into a friend or someone they knew on the ship was remote versus wearing something considered so daring at the time and being seen by people they might know at the beach was too much to risk it. The funny thing was that these same men were asked if they would wear bikini or thong cruise swimwear for men at the beach if most of the other men were wearing them and yes was the answer in over 90% of the respondents. Another interesting point is how cruise swimwear for men differs from that of women. There is a whole segment of cruise swimwear designs for women and it is considered more upscale than standard women’s beachwear but not more risqué.
Cruise swimwear for men is a whole other story. It is all about being more daring, wearing sexier suits, more revealing swimwear and many men who wear these suits on cruise ships switch to these designs for the beach and pool too. Some men are pushed into it by their wives or girlfriends picking out a nice skimpy bikini and making them wear it on the ship while other men are very excited about having the freedom to wear something that they have always wanted to try but have never had the right opportunity to wear one. Being on a cruise ship gives them that chance. One of the nice thing for men is not only that they can wear these sexy revealing designs that give them a great tan line not a silly one like those giant surf shorts but that many other men on board are wearing them too which puts the first time bikini or thong wearer at ease. Cruise swimwear for men designs are at the forefront of men’s swimwear fashion. Bikinis, thongs and G-strings can all be seen on cruise ships and with each design there are actually sub categories. Cruise swimwear for men bikinis come in many flavors from as conservative as Speedos to as extreme as ultra-micro bikinis, semi sheer bikinis, male enhancement bikinis, micro pouch bikinis and almost too many more to list. My favorite manufacture of cruise designs would have to be Koala swim. Their head designer Michael David is world renown for creating some of the most amazing men’s swimwear designs some extreme they almost make me blush. Many are considered works of art and I admit to have many dozens of Koala designs in my own personal swimwear collection. Cruise swimwear for men has been more daring than traditional men’s beach wear for years but that is showing signs of changing as well. Let’s start with the basics. Men’s beach wear is different in the USA than it is in Europe and Asia. European men wear bikinis, thongs and G-strings on the beach and almost never wear surf shorts. Most Europeans will comment that the man wearing surf shorts on a beach in Europe is most likely an American tourist. What is considered cruise swimwear for men here is standard beach faire in Europe. In Asia the standard suits are bikinis for men and most of those bikini designs are Speedos or Speedo knock-offs. Things are changing in the USA as beach wear for men is more and more about style and daring style at that. Last season saw more men than ever shedding their surf shorts in favorer of bikinis and thongs. Major beach destinations in Florida, California and even Hawaii are leading the way in design in fact some of the world’s most outstanding and interesting men’s swimwear designs including cruise swimwear for men are both designed and manufactured in the USA and many of these companies are far ahead of their European counterparts in terms of quality and extreme fashions which are some of the hottest products and trends in men’s swimwear fashion. The big question is will it take going on a cruise to get you out of your shorts and into something much more interesting or are you willing to be an early adaptor to the latest trends of extreme swimsuits? Showing more skin for men is not only a trend it is the reality of what is going on in swimwear design. My opinion is that it is about time that men have the same opportunities and the same freedom to be not only comfortable wearing suits that not only fit you beautifully but show your curves, your body allow you to get a great tan and allow you to be proud of your body! Women have been way out ahead of men in swimwear fashion. Thank god for cruise swimwear for men and the doors it is opening for men to get in touch with their bodies and to be able to exhibit them with pride and pleasure. When you are around the pool of a cruise ship the thing you notice instantly is that many of the men are wearing skimpier suits than the ladies. It looks as though the 2011-2012 season of men’s beachwear is heading the same direction with many of the early summer fashion shows featuring all sorts of bikini styles from full coverage to Brazilian designs, male enhancement suits and even ultra-micro bikinis. The surf short has virtually disappeared from the runways can it disappearing from the beach scene but much further off? I hope not! I stopped wearing surf shorts a number of years ago after my girlfriend now my wife told me my tan looked silly. Sure I was completely white from right under my belly button to well below my knees how funny could that look? She showed me some photos of men on European beaches and asked me if I would wear those designs if she ordered me a few. I thought about it for a minute and said sure secretly I had always been a little jealous of watching my girls head spin when she would see a guy in a G-string at our favorite beach, Venice Beach in LA. I could not believe how great it felt wearing a bikini and after a couple weeks of getting tanned in my backyard I was ready for the beach. I have never looked back in fact if anything the designs I wear keep getting smaller and smaller to the point that I believe men’s beach wear designs will overtake cruise swimwear for men fashion statement of the day.
